London, UK, April 5, 2007: Catherine Michel, CTO and co-founder of Tribold, the world’s leading provider of Product Management enterprise software for Communication Service Providers (CSPs), has been re-elected to the TeleManagement Forum Board as an Advisory Director. Catherine will continue her work with the TMF Board of Directors, helping to define and implement the strategic objectives of the organization, and taking an active role in refining BSS/OSS standards and encouraging their adoption.
The TM Forum Board of Directors is comprised of senior executives from a global cross section of the industry, including leading CSPs, solution suppliers, and systems integrators. The Advisory Board members are responsible for supporting the board by providing selected expertise to the various Committees throughout the year, contributing to the direction of the Forum and working on critical issues with the Board members.
“I am delighted to accept my role as a TM Forum Advisory Director and look forward to once again working with some of the industry’s leading figureheads. The communications industry is undergoing rapid growth and evolution, and the TM Forum is critical to help shape that growth ” said Catherine Michel, CTO and co-founder at Tribold. “I am relishing the prospect of helping the Forum provide further clarification to CSPs on one of their biggest OSS and BSS challenges of the coming year – managing thousands of unique products and services across the service provider portfolio.”
“It is great to have Catherine back on board for a second year, as well as Tribold’s continued support having been active members since the early stages. Catherine has already demonstrated her expertise in, amongst other activities, helping to define our 2006/2007 strategic objectives,” said Keith Willetts, chairman of the board at the TeleManagement Forum. “A regular speaker at industry events and well-respected within the industry, Catherine has spent more than 12 years specializing in the telecoms industry gaining extensive experience in transformational strategy, business consulting and systems development – an exceptional asset to the TM Forum.”
According to a Yankee Group report, due to be released next week, inefficiencies in the management process (in large part due to poor tools and manual processes) can add between 40% and as much as 80% of additional time for new products’ time-to-market. According to Yankee Group analysis of limited market consumer launches, product launch delays of more than 20 to 26 weeks can cause $750,000 in lost revenue opportunities in year 1 alone.
Through its suite of Product Management application software, Tribold automates what is today a manual and disjointed process, by consolidating product information into a single, unified Product Catalog. Centralizing product data will provide the catalyst to rapidly deliver new product bundles to market in the most efficient and profitable way.
