About the SDF Syndicated Services Catalyst
Traditionally, telecommunications service providers have developed their services closely tied to the network infrastructures they own and positioned those services as unique and specific to their industry.
A number of these services, like ordering, billing and QoS, have wider applicability and can be decoupled from the network environment and made available to a larger ecosystem of providers and enterprises through syndication.
This catalyst project breaks out of the traditional provider value chain model and demonstrates a consistent, flexible and cost effective way to mass commercialize new products and services across Service Providers from all industries. The resulting marketplace could vastly expand the universe of services readily available to users, driving accelerated use and adoption.
The Building Marketplace with Managed Syndicated Services project is aimed at demonstrating how a service provider can use best of breed vendors to:
- Create, provision and assure the quality and reliability of new offerings by assembling multiple network-based services from third parties
- Use a common industry framework, such as Service Delivery Platform (SDF), to solve the problem of integrating into legacy systems
- Add the capability to monitor the health and usage of the syndicated SDF services across network and service providers.
