product management solutions
In the CSP world, the key discipline which will enable further profit and future success is effective product management.
With our deep roots in Communications industry, Tribold’s suite of solutions focus specifically on solving the CSP product management challenge, at the heart of which are complex enterprise data and business process issues.

Effective product management is comprised of five key solution sets:
Product Data Management (PDM)
Product Data Integration (PDI)
Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
Product Business Intelligence (PBI)
Product Channel Management (PCM)
product data management (PDM)
Normalizing product data and centralizing it into a single enterprise catalog is absolutely fundamental to the core of effective product management. Ensuring a clear definition of the proposition is the only way to ensure that CSPs effectively and accurately respond to customer demand.
Components of product data management:
- Normalized and holistic product definition
- Centralized product and service catalog
- Rationalized and reusable product data and rules
product data integration (PDI)
Once the product set is normalized, then – and only then – is real control possible. When comprehensive and consistent product data information is available, then it can feed into all the other systems and operational processes that rely upon it throughout the organization.
Components of product data integration:
- Single point of entry / exit for product definitions
- Control over data distribution and launch
- Automated Integration of product data across the enterprise
product lifecycle management (PLM)
Clearly defining the product is also the first requirement for effective and automated lifecycle management. Specify a new product. Model its performance profile.Understand and execute the product introduction process. Manage how and when products are to be retired or withdrawn. Do all this at the same time as managing customer satisfaction.
Components of product lifecycle management:
- Process framework for managing products through a defined, repeatable and measurable lifecycle (Design, Build, Launch, In-life management, Retirement, Analysis)
- Project and resource definition, management and tracking
- Access, data state and version control management

product business intelligence (PBI)
With product data normalized and under control, access to the information that drives effective management suddenly becomes a straightforward prospect. Now measurement is no longer something that is practiced differently in every system. Instead it is properly managed on a like-for-like basis. It is current, comprehensive and true. Product managers can see and understand what is really going on with their products, within the business and its markets.
Components of product business intelligence
- Standardized operational product reporting (e.g., price books, BOMs)
- Enhanced product performance analysis (e.g., unit cost, profitability, penetration)
product channel management (PCM)
Product channel management is the furthest and most streamlined stage along the road to effective product management. It involves the CSP incorporating the full supplier/consumer eco-system into their product development and management process. It allows customers at the other end of the process to do what they want, how they want. They can buy on-line, or in the shop of their choice. They can see and understand how using a different channel will affect the price or the service they receive. They can control their own destiny and consume in a way that is profitable for the CSP and highly satisfying for them.
Components of product channel management
- Exposing the relevant product catalogue to the various eco-system channels – customer, reseller, partner provider
- Customer-driven, on demand service delivery framework
