Analyst Report on Product Management in CSPs
Catalyst for Profit Say Researchers
Communication Service Providers (CSPs) must have better Product Management (PM) systems, if they are to address basic profit issues.
That is the fundamental conclusion of a Yankee Group report called “Serving Generation Me” which is available for download from this website.

The report, commissioned by Tribold, highlights a massively fragmented PM environment where responsibilities are blurred, current tools are "often simplistic and at worst amateurish" and reliance on manual processes can double product launch timescales.
Contrast this with the market, where expectations of an ever more disloyal subscriber base have never been higher, and competition is coming from a new generation of Web 2.0 companies like Google and Skype.
In this scenario, it becomes clear that CSPs have to move from a network-centric attitude to a customer-centric orientation, and automated Product Management solutions could be the catalyst for constructive response.
